Ankara – Turkey (KRP.org) – Addressing a conference of Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development party, President Barzani commended the policies of Prime Minister Erdogan and his party to address the Kurdish issue and called on all Kurdish groups to reciprocate by supporting this policy.

President Barzani arrived in Ankara on Saturday to attend the 4th party conference of Turkey’s ruling AK party. During his address, he paid tribute to the courage displayed by the leadership of the AK party, particularly Prime Minister Erdogan, for the opening aimed at resolving the Kurdish question in Turkey and for their policy of engagement with the KRG.

“The policy of your party and of your leader is the right policy to address all the problems. Here I want very much to thank Mr. Erdogan for his courage both when, during a visit to Diyarbekir, he said that the Kurdish problem must be addressed, and last year when he visited us in Erbil and said that the days of denying the existence of the Kurdish people is over,” said President Barzani. He called on all Kurdish groups to stand behind this policy, saying, “I see it as incumbent on all Kurds to reciprocate this by supporting this policy and for all Kurdish parties to distance themselves from the use of violence because we believe violence will not lead anywhere.”
